Women’s basketball signs Taylor Jones transfer to Oregon State

AUSTIN, TX —Texas Women’s Basketball Head Coach Vic Schäfer announced Monday the addition of transfer forward Taylor Jones from Oregon State.

A three-year starter and All-PAC 12 conference winner, Jones joins the Longhorns with two years of eligibility remaining.

The Forney, Texas native started nine games in an injury-shortened 2021-22 season. She averaged 12.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while shooting 64.9 percent from the floor.

During her sophomore campaign in 2020-21, Jones was named to the All-PAC 12 honorable mention team after averaging 12.3 points per game while leading the conference in rebounding (8.9 rpg) and ranked No. 2 in field goal percentage (.556).

Jones was named to the All-Freshman PAC-12 team in 2019-20. She averaged 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest and set the OSU freshman record for single-season blocks (60), which was also the highest PAC-12 mark. .

During his prep career, Jones was a two-time Adidas All-American and was ranked the 43rd prospect in the nation in the Class of 2019 by ESPN W/HoopGurlz. She helped Dallas Christian win two state titles, was a three-time All-State winner, and finished with over 2,000 points in her career.
