TikTok sensation Walker Hayes craves a show at Billy Bob’s on new tour

Who would have thought to love a song about splitting Oreo shakes at Applebee and dipping fries in a Frosty at Wendy’s would turn out to be a juggernaut? But it’s 2021, and here we are, “Fancy Like”.

Walker Hayes, singer-songwriter of the whipped cream hit that took over TikTok, will bring his new “Fancy Like Tour” in Fort Worth, for a Billy Bob’s Texas show on March 4, 2022. Tickets go on sale at 10 am on Friday November 4, the venue announced.

The only other Texas stop on her tour (so far) is in Austin, at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on March 3. Mackenzie Porter will open its doors.

Hayes, 41, born in Alabama, Recount People magazine recently that he’s still trying to figure out why “Fancy Like” has exploded into a national craze since its release in June. For those who don’t know the catchy song, the chorus is as follows:

We crave Applebee on a date / I got that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake
Put some whipped cream on top too / Two straws, a check, honey, I got you
Candle like Natty in the Styrofoam / Squeak-squeak in the truck bed all the way home
A bit of Alabama-jamma, she’s my Dixieland / Ayy delight, that’s how we do it, how we do, I like

“It’s a love song for people with mortgages and kids,” Hayes said People, citing an Instagram comment he came across.

Naturally, Applebee started using the song in commercials and even brought the Oreo shake back to its menu.

TikTok added fuel to the song’s wildfire. Hayes and her 15-year-old daughter choreographed a TikTok dance, and in 24 hours it has been seen 30 million times.

A remix of the song, released in early October, features pop star Kesha and wine-boxed Franzia cameos in the video.

The top selling platinum has now been appointed for an American Music Award for Favorite Country Song, against Chris Stapleton, Gabby Barrett, Luke Combs and Chris Young & Kane Brown.

Tickets for the Billy Bob show, $ 18 for general admission and $ 30 reserved, if you fancy that.
