OSU Outdoor Track & Field opens the season at the Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – Oklahoma State Outdoor Track & Field opened its 2022 roster Thursday with a trio of athletes competing at 94and Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.

Max Braht officially kicked off the Cowboys’ season in men’s open javelin throwing. Braht threw his farthest throw of the day on his first attempt with a distance of 54.95 meters (180′-3″).

After Braht, Michaela Travers and Megan Mann competed in the women’s 400-meter hurdles. Travers opened the Cowgirl season with a personal best 1:01.54, earning her a sixth-place finish in her heat.

Mann followed in the women’s varsity/college timed final with the second PR of the day for the Cowgirls, finishing the race with a time of 1:04.31.

“It’s a good start for these three athletes”, throws, multis and jumps coach Josh Langley noted. “It’s a season opener at their main outdoor events, so there’s obviously going to be some rust to knock off. I think Michaela opens with a PR bodes really well for her upcoming season.”

Several Cowboys and Cowgirls will compete tomorrow, including the 4×400-meter relays and four-time All-Big 12 winner Saara Hakanen in the high jump. Koryee Wyatt and Brooke Givens will open their seasons in the 100 meters with Olivija Vaitaityte in the 100 meters hurdles.
