MaxPreps Top 25 High School Football Scores: No.3 Austin Westlake defeats Lake Travis 63-21

The biggest high school football game of the week was a one-sided affair as No.3 Westlake (Austin, TX) claimed a 63-21 victory over rival Lake Travis (Austin). Five-star Chaparrals quarterback Cade Klubnik returned after missing the last three games with a shoulder injury and scored five touchdowns. Westlake finished the regular season 10-0 and extended his winning streak to 34 games. Second-year running back Jack Kayser had a monster night with over 400 yards scrimmage and two scores.

Back-to-back state champions will be in the Division 2 6A playoff bracket this season. They won the 6A D2 Championship in 2019 and won the 6A Division 1 title last year.

Braylin Presley and No.19 Bixby (Okla.) Continued their dominance with a 69-20 victory over Booker T. Washington (Tusla). The Spartans are now three wins away from breaking Wagoner’s state record of 48 consecutive wins. It was the sixth time this season that the three-time state champions 6A-II have scored more than 60 points in a game.

Number 10 Chandler (Arizona) picked up a tough 10-7 victory over Highland (Gilbert) to claim his 45th straight victory. The Wolves currently have the fourth longest active winning streak in the country and they close the regular season Nov. 12 at the 15th Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz). The Huskies improved to 9-0 with a 58-17 victory over Higley (Gilbert).

The No.8 Center Grove (Greenwood, Indiana) extended their winning streak to 25 with a 41-7 victory over Columbus North (Columbus) in the second round of the 6A State Playoffs. Next for the defending champions is (7-3) Lawrence North (Indianapolis) with a 6A semi-final berth on the line. The Trojans won the regular season game 43-19.

17th Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) earned a 63-6 victory over Foothill (Henderson) to advance to the third round of the 5A State Playoffs. The Gaels have now dominated their top seven opponents in State 387-6. Next are the reigning 4A State Champions, (10-1) Liberty (Henderson), who are the last team in the state to beat the Gaels. They ended Gorman’s 10-game winning streak with a 30-24 overtime win in the 4A quarterfinals in 2019.

The Alabama 7A State Playoffs feature two MaxPreps Top 25 teams and they both made their first playoff games. The No.18 Hoover took a 56-14 victory over Sparkman (Harvest) and the 7A back-to-back Champions beat Florence 49-10.
