Artis D. Wetzel, (sample) from Lamar, went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Daughter of the late Howard and Eileen Van Dyke Sample. Artis married Donald R. Wetzel on March 5, 1965. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary last March.
She is survived by her husband Donald at their home in Lamar; three daughters, Vonda Handte (Don) of Woodland, Theresa Emel (Jeff) of Osceola Mills and Dawn Bean (Lynn) also of Osceola Mills; one son Will Leahman of Loganton; five grandsons Justiin, Tyler, Marshall, Cody and Christopher; ten granddaughters, Jessica, Megan, Emily, Kayla, Chelsey, Delesa, Brittaney, Tahnya, Racheal and Jessica Lee; many great-grandchildren; five sisters, Patricia, Donna, Peggy, Joann and Mary Ann; and a brother Charles.
Above all, Artis loved his family “no matter what.” She touched many hearts with her presence, determination, strength and faith.
She loved vacation reunions, “Westerns,” Her biggest friends on TV were Walker Texas Ranger, especially Mr. Chuck Norris, the Gaithers, and sang hymns live with her husband Donald.
She will be sadly missed by many. She is finally blessed with her eternal wings, resting in the eternal arms of her Lord and Savior Christ.
The funeral will be on Friday June 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, with Pastor Greg Shipe as officiant. Friends and family will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Tylersville cemetery.
