Allegiant Air begins flights to Austin, SD from SAN this spring – NBC 7 San Diego

This spring, San Diego International Airport will have a new year-round route to Austin, Texas and a seasonal summer route to Sioux Falls, South Dakota via Allegiant Air, it was announced Thursday.

Allegiant will launch the new Texas route between SAN and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on April 20, and South Dakota flights are scheduled to take place between May 19 and August 12 via Sioux Falls Regional Airport.

“We welcome Allegiant’s new year-round service to Austin and seasonal summer flights to Sioux Falls,” said Kimberly Becker, president and CEO of San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. . “Allegiant continues to grow its presence at SAN, providing service to unique destinations across the United States”

Austin is a new destination for Allegiant and the carrier’s only year-round service from SAN. The service will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Allegiant offered nonstop seasonal service between Sioux Falls and SAN during the summer of 2020 and will resume flying this summer. Flights will be operated twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

From SAN, the airline also offers nonstop flights to Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona, Bellingham and Pasco, Washington, El Paso, Texas, Eugene and Medford, Oregon, Idaho Falls, Idaho and Las Vegas.
