# 1 volleyball sweeps the TCU


AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Volleyball No.1 defeated TCU in straight sets, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19, Thursday at the Gregory Gymnasium.

The Longhorns have gone undefeated and improved to 14-0 this season.

Logan eggleston led Texas with 15 kills, reaching 0.324 in the game, and added eight digs, three blocks and one assist. Heavenly fields was second on the team with nine kills.

Asjia O’Neal had a great all-round game with eight assists, four blocks, three digs, an ace and an assist. Brionne Butler led the team with five blocks and added four kills with a 0.500 hit percentage.

Jhenna gabriel distributed 25 assists and had two assists, five digs and one assist. Nalani Iosie came just short of a double-double with 10 digs and nine assists. Melanie Parra led the team with 12 digs and three aces on serve.

Texas took a big lead in the first set, going 20-9 before having to fend off a late TCU rally to win 25-21. Again in the second set, the Longhorns led 23-15 and had to fend off the Horned Frogs for a 25-20 victory.

The third set was tight most of the time, with the teams tied 16-16 before the Longhorns pulled out with a 9-3 run to close the game.

The Longhorns and Horned Frogs will face off again Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Gregory Gym.
